This service area is located between Matsuo-Hachimantai IC and Nishine IC. Here, Mt. Iwate, also known as "Southern Katata Fuji," can be clearly seen spreading out its large footprint. Mt. Iwate resembles the shape of Mt. Fuji, and is also called "Nanbu Katata Fuji" because one side of the mountain looks like it has been scraped off.
